Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership on all data-related projects
Promote consistent and acceptable approach in database design and architecture
Provide mentorship to junior developers to aid them in developing their technical and programming skills
Work with Business Analysts to refine functional requirements
Work with database architect to develop and refine database designs and technical specifications
Design, develop, and support SQL Server databases
Design, develop, and support SSIS packages
Design, develop, and support SSRS reports
Research and recommend new tools and technologies as appropriate
Develop database code for new products and data migration
Review and performance tune database code
Troubleshoot and fix performance issues with databases, packages, and reports
Work independently and share technical knowledge with the team as needed
Work effectively in a team environment
Demonstrate initiative to easily adapt to the changing technology landscape.
Be proactive, responsible and flexible
Supervisory Duties:
The Senior Database Engineer does not have any direct reports, but will provide mentorship to other Database Engineers and Business Intelligence Developers of all levels, and will similarly lead teams and projects
Education & Work Experience:
A bachelor's degree (major/minor) in
science, information systems.
A successful Senior Database Engineer will have proven success in software design and development, with demonstrated knowledge of the below noted technologies. Such knowledge typically gained with at least five to seven years' design and development experience with databases.
